Founder and Patron of More In Common Basildon Borough, former Mayor David Burton-Sampson says, "When I decided to focus my fundraising efforts in 2019/20 on supporting The Jo Cox Foundation and ultimately establishing our own More In Common group here in the borough I did so with Jo Cox's now well known words resonating in my head - 'We are far more united and have more in common than that which divides us.' Words that still ring true. I am excited that so many people are coming together to support those in need in our borough by providing a central resource for signposting whilst driving the key aims of our cause."
Adds former Chair of More In Common Basildon Borough Derrick Fellowes, "I am so proud to serve as Chair of this dedicated group of people who are already working diligently in the voluntary sector, supporting many across the Borough. This sits extremely well with the aims of More In Common, whose remit is to end social isolation and to promote social cohesion. Both of those aims are massively important."
